John 1:15-18 In the concluding verses of the Prologue, the Apostle John provides 3 important declarations of the preeminence of Christ.

John 1:14 The Incarnation is a crucial doctrine: Jesus is fully God and fully man; two natures in one person. This truth is central to the gospel and must be affirmed in order to be saved.

John 1:12-13 Not all people are children of God—only those who have, by God’s sovereign grace, received Christ and believed on His name.

John 1:9-11 Though Christ is the true Light, and though His truth has shown on a lost world, most people have responded with ignorance (which is inexcusable) and rejection (which is scandalous).

John 1:6-8 John the Baptist was a unique messenger on a very specific mission—to prepare the hearts of the people for the coming of the Messiah. We, too, have been given the mission of pointing people to Christ.

John 1:3-5 Saving faith is trust is the true Jesus—the One described by John as the divine, sovereign, Creator of all things; the One who is completely victorious over spiritual death and darkness.

John 1:1-2 A person’s eternal destiny is determined by their response to Jesus Christ. And there are only two destinies possible—eternal life or eternal judgment.
