Nothing in the life of a true disciple is left untouched by the law of his new kingdom — but the beginning point is his thinking. Disciples are to go through life in this world being heavenly-minded.

The Christian life is pictured as a race that is to be run with perseverance. Yet there are times in our lives that make this a challenge; there are times when we may feel like giving up, including in times of difficulty, temptation, and persecution.

Becoming more and more like Christ in our actions is what our passion as Christians is in this world. Humility is honestly assessing ourselves in light of God’s holiness and our sinfulness.

If we say that we are Christ’s disciples or followers and since imitating Him is what proves we are true “learners” of Him, then what will our lives look like? Holiness is the primary thing in Christ that we imitate.

What does it mean to “walk in the same manner as Jesus did”? A true believer is to maintain a sobering perspective about his walk with Christ the rest of his life.

There are appropriate approaches to evangelism — not necessarily technique, but emphasizing different aspects of the gospel depending on the person. The goal is to please God by pointing sinners to Christ.

Making disciples has to do with evangelism — seeking to win people to Christ. There are several important features of evangelism, including the means and the content.

Discipleship — the gospel — is not as much an invitation as it is a command — a call. This involves repentance and submission.
