John 17:24-26 In the final part of His priestly prayer, Jesus requested that the church would come to experience the consummation of God’s plan of redemption—the experience in heaven of Christ’s eternal glory and the Father’s intimate love.

John 17:20-23 The primary burden on the heart of Jesus was the unity of all His followers in the centuries to come — the church.

John 17:17-19 Jesus concludes His prayer for the 11 disciples by asking the Father to consecrate those men so that they would grow in holiness and in devotion to the gospel mission.

John 17:11-17 In addition to praying that the 11 disciples would be protected from going astray theologically, from disunity, and from despair, Jesus also prayed for their protection from worldliness.

John 17:11-17 Jesus prayed that the Father would protect the 11 faithful disciples in some important categories.

John 17:9-11 As Jesus begins His intercession for the 11 faithful disciples, He voices why it was a restricted prayer, a confident prayer, and a necessary prayer.

John 17:6-8 Jesus prays for the 11 disciples because they were genuine believers. In His prayer for them, Jesus articulated the evidences of their genuine faith.
